An apprenticeship is a real job with training, so you can earn a wage while you learn. Apprenticeships are open to people of all ages over the age of 16, enabling people to improve their skills and progress in their careers. You can start an apprenticeship at any stage in your career; whether you’re just starting, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships must last a minumum of 12 months and all learners are required to spend 20% of their working hours on training towards their apprenticeship.
To become an apprentice, you must:
be 16 or over
not already be in full-time education
live in England

Traineeships are perfect for those learners that require a little more preparation for work before starting in a busy workplace full time. Here at The Link Training, we can build a traineeship course around your needs and then we can support you in finding an apprenticeship. All our traineeships are completed alongside work experience. The focus is around preparing you for an apprenticeship and the world of work.
You will take part in an initial assessment and your bespoke programme will be developed with you at the centre. You may need to work towards functional skills in Maths and English up to level 2. (exemptions apply) Courses are bespoke and your timetable of attendance will be discussed before the commencement of the course. We have various start dates throughout the year; courses usually last from 6 weeks to 6 months however if you are successful in finding an apprenticeship you can transfer at any time during your course.
