Level 2 Certificate in Barbering

The level 2 certificate in barbering (VRQ) is an introductory barbering training programme aimed at learners who are new to the barbering industry. Through completion of this qualification, you will develop the core barbering knowledge, skills and behaviours required to safely complete basic barbering services including:

• Consulting with clients
• Cutting men’s facial hair
• Cutting men’s hair

Through completion of this qualification, you will develop the skills that will allow you to safely complete the core barbering services of cutting hair and facial hair. You will understand how to consult with a client to establish the service requirements. You will be able to plan a basic haircut utilising guidelines to create core shapes and use cross-checking to assure accuracy and balance. You will understand how to use clippers to remove length, blend and fade hair. You will be able to use scissors to remove length and blend hair using scissors over comb and will understand and be able to use club cutting and point cutting to create basic hairstyles. You will be able to shape beards utilising clippers and scissors and create accurate beard outlines that compliment your client’s face shape.
