About the qualificationThe course is suitable for learners preparing to enter employment, or already in a care role and want to develop the skills needed for this highly sensitive role. End of life care is one of the most challenging job roles there is and requires a high degree of sensitivity and respect. Although a specialist role, it’s also acknowledged that quality end of life care should be provided by all carers when required. Therefore, this qualification can provide learners with a basic understanding of how to approach end of life situations sensitively, respectfully and with a focus on quality.

- Different perspectives on death and dying
- Understanding the aims, principles and policies of end-of-life care
- Understanding factors regarding communication in end-of-life care
- Knowing how to access the range of support services available to individuals and others
- Understand how to work in end of life care
Duration
