About the qualification
The course is suitable for learners preparing to enter employment, or already in a care roles caring for those with dementia.
This is a knowledge-only qualification that provides underpinning knowledge and understanding in relation to:
 
  • Dementia awareness
  • The person-centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
  • Understanding the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
  • Understanding equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care

Duration

This programme typically takes 16-weeks to complete. Delivery is personalised to your learning needs and you may be able to complete the qualification in a shorter time period or require longer to complete. 

Course Price

This course costs £130.00 per person, eligible employers may be able to claim this back from the learning and development support fund through Skills for Care. We are also able to offer cohort pricing options.

Delivery Location

This programme can be delivered remotely or at your place of work with 1-1 support and feedback provided by your personal tutor in-between sessions.

Assessment Information

Throughout this course, you will be assessed through a variety of methods;
  • Oral questioning
  • Written evidence
  • Professional discussions
Your final assessment will be a submission of a portfolio of evidence that you build through the course.
